XpertDeploy™ for Oracle® database is an interpreter for SQL application developers and database administrators. It is designed to rapidly and accurately deploy applications which execute SQL statements for the Oracle database. XpertDeploy consists of a command line interpreter incorporating a 'C' style preprocessor and an optional GUI for invoking the interpreter.
Key features of XpertDeploy include convenience, uniform error reporting, restart capability and reusability.
Convenience
- Easily invoked via a supplied GUI or from the command line. Command line usage permits inclusion into other build tools.
- When errors are encountered, XpertDeploy aborts and all subsequent statements are ignored eliminating the typical time lost performing recovery efforts.
- When testing conditional execution in multiple environments, macro expansion occurs and the statements are parsed and discarded.
Uniform Error Reporting
- Error reporting is directed to an XML file which may be viewed in your browser as XML, or transformed to an HTML page using an imbedded XSL transformation.
- Standardized error handling process eliminating the need for each developer to create their own.
- The XML is reusable making it easy to determine the installation status of versioned data models on any server and/or schema.
- The XML output contains the number of statements failed, statements executed, completion status, timestamp, and other installation information.
- For customized error reporting, users can tailor and implement their own XSL file.
Restart Capability
- Permits users to re-execute files containing SQL following error recovery.
- May be used after modifications have occurred in SQL statements;PLSQL packages, procedures, functions and types.
Reusability
- XpertDeploy is completely reusable eliminating the need to continually design, develop, test and maintain batch files and related deployment code.
